Keating Economics

If you haven’t seen Barack Obama’s new website “Keating Economics” yet, then you should take a look.  This is somewhat different than what I am used to seeing in election campaign tactics, that’s for sure.  On the front page of the website, you will see a 13+ minute video on YouTube (also available for download) discussing the Savings & Loan Crisis and McCain’s role in it.  You can register for updates, or submit stories about how the S&L Scandal effected you personally.

What makes this website more than simple mudslinging, is the depth of information available.  There is a section entitled “Research & Downloads” which provides a bulk of information with cited sources.  I do not imagine John McCain will walk away from this without some serious political bruises, considering the shape the economy is in these days.  It should be interesting to see what sort of response this latest shot at the McCain / Palin ticket will bring.  John McCain and Sarah Palin have been stepping up their criticisms of Barack Obama lately, but I think McCain and Palin will need to come up with something more than simple mudslinging if they want to stay in the race.
